Action packed video! After driving around Atlanta Motor Speedway, we visited the largest classic car junkyard in the world. Then, we look at a Ford Model A for sale. On the way home we visit a local car show, went antiquing, and ended up making our own socks. Can't make this stuff up fellers!

The tube sock factory was fantastically weird (esoteric) to see.
The best part of my former job (freight delivery/pick up) was getting mini-tours of machine shops and manufacturing facilities... amazing pre-war machines doing jobs ya didn't even know needed doin'. Ever see chain-link fence being made? On a darn near 100 yr old machine?
Cool stuff.

Also, if a feller ever finds himself in Colorado. The Golden cruise is held the first Saturday of every month during the summer and it's awesome. Hundreds of cars turn up.

Derek it’s hard to believe that at one point in time they were all beautiful cars once sitting on the showroom floor. Amazing yet sad. Some manufacturers don’t even exist any more. Thanks for sharing your fabulous trip 🇺🇸👍

20:43 it gives me goosebumps seeing a car with such beautiful body lines, that tough looking character... rather than those plain straight edged cars you see today.
Someone should build new cars with these features!!!
Yes I like a rough rumbling exhaust but heck, even make them electrical if you want.

Wow that's some angle to drive at I think I'd have to be in something low down like an old Ford Capri(UK version/European) or a 60's Mustang ..perhaps a Pontiac Firebird something like that

When I see all those classics rotting away in the woods, trees growing out of their engine hoods, can’t help to think about the people that owned them. Someone drove their pride and joy out of a showroom and polished it every Saturday to look sparkling for Sunday church. Someone saved up a small fortune and some made huge debt, struggling to make payments, people had families, took road trips, went on holidays and drove to work and back for decades in some of them. Some people were conceived on the back seats, some people lost their lives in them. So many stories, dreams, tinkering with the timing, throwing money at them… and all that is left after some of their owners are long gone, chunks of rustic monuments of years gone by. That is why guys like Derek are invaluable in our world to preserve some of these old classics for future generations to enjoy and experience.
Thanks for sharing your adventure Derek !

We own a Suburban, 1988. When we were raising our 4 kids we needed the room. It turns out 26 years later we still have it. Now our youngest is driving it. At the time we purchased it we brought her home from the hospital in it.

Just wow! Old car city just blew my mind, I can't wrap my bucket around the millions of dollars of American cars just sitting there rusting away. Really awesome stuff.

That's not a junkyard, it's a graveyard. What a sad loss and an even more terrible waste.

The background music during the junkyard was so eerie sounding... It felt... sad, despair, hope is lost. I feel music on a personal level as a musician, and that made me difficult to focus on the cars. Not a complaint AT ALL. I love all kinds of music. We need sad music just as much as happy music. I just wonder what the composer was feeling as he wrote that piece... Felt like he was suffering with a deep internal darkness. Any possibility of getting a link to the song or title at least?

I'd say no go on the Model A. You already have that old red ford and this other one needs way too much plus not a bargain. I'd rather see some of the other cars get done than mess with that.
